Defero Communications is planning an ambitious series of fundraising activities to support Naomi House Children’s Hospice.
The Charity is close to the hearts of Defero Director Matt Trace and his partner Jayne, who spent time at Naomi House with their baby daughter Jessica Jayne, before she sadly passed away on Christmas Eve 2011.
In memory of Jessica and to raise much needed funds for Naomi House, Defero and friends hope to raise in excess of £50,000 for the charity with a range of fundraising activities, which culminate in the ascent of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro in October 2012.
Other fundraising efforts will include auctioning spaces on the Yacht Monkey Business throughout Cowes Week and for the Round the Island Race, and a Summer Ball on June 23rd.
Defero is being supported in its fundraising efforts by a number of clients and friends and has already attracted sponsors including Wise Catering, Delicious Dining and MIQ Logistics.
Defero Director, Matt Trace, said: “Naomi House is an incredible charity, with a truly amazing team of people. It’s difficult to imagine how we would have coped without their support over the last few months. We have also been overwhelmed by the support that we have received from the many people who have come together in support of our fundraising efforts. With their help I am confident that we can reach our target of £50,000.”
The Charity costs around £5million a year to provide its services, to families, which include respite, end of life care, emergency and bereavement support. 90% of its income is donated by local people and businesses.
